Meet Our Team
Dr Morven Templeton
Chartered Counselling Psychologist
Hello, I’m Morven, a counselling psychologist and clinical director of Glasgow Psychology Centre. I have many years of experience supporting people through life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to grow, heal, and thrive.
Although I work in general practice and support a wide range of mental health concerns, I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism. I am trained and experienced in the assessment of these conditions and bring a sensitive and collaborative approach to the diagnostic process.
I also have an interest in helping women manage anxiety and low mood related to menopause – this is a relationship between physical and mental health that is often overlooked but deeply important.
After my undergraduate degree in psychology and a Masters’ degree in psychological research I went onto train at Glasgow Caledonian University, where I completed my doctorate in counselling psychology. Before moving into private practice, I had a long and fulfilling career in the public sector, which gave me a strong foundation in working with people from all walks of life.
In my therapeutic work, I draw on different psychological approaches to suit each person’s unique needs. These include Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. My goal is always to create a supportive space where you can feel safe, heard, and understood.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of someone to talk to, I’m here to help. Together, we can explore what’s going on for you and find a way forward—at your pace, and in a way that feels right for you.

My goal is to create a safe and respectful environment during the assessment process, guiding clients towards long-lasting solutions. Thank you for considering my services, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey towards mental well-being.
Karen McClelland

Hi, I’m Karen, an integrative therapist with over 10 years of experience counselling adults with a variety of issues. I work with clients both long-term and short-term, always viewing each person as a unique individual. I focus on collaborating closely with you, adapting my therapeutic approach to meet your specific needs. My methods draw on Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), and Psychodynamic approaches.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to helping you achieve your goals. I bring warmth, gentleness, and compassion to our work together.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a manager of a counselling charity. This role allowed me to work alongside experienced therapists and mentor students in training.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Code of Practice. I engage in regular professional development and also work as a clinical and pastoral supervisor. Together, I look forward to working with you to develop a therapeutic approach that meets your unique, individual needs.
Emma Gimson
CBT Hypnotherapist & Trainee Counselling Psychologist
Hi! I am Emma and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). I have a Masters (MSc) in Psychology, and currently I am a Counselling Psychologist in doctoral training.
I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy, and person-centred therapy to successfully help clients manage ADHD, anxiety, stress, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), trauma, phobias and sleep related challenges. CBT offers a practical toolkit to better understand and cope with challenges, and hypnotherapy helps embed this learning whilst in a deeply relaxed state. For some clients person-centred counselling is more appropriate and I am skilled at working with clients using this client-led approach. I prioritise creating a safe space for clients to explore challenging topics, with compassion and empathy.
Ultimately, my approach is tailored to the client, focussing on each person’s individual perspective, background, culture and needs, building rapport and designing a plan that will have lasting results.
I come from a background in senior public sector leadership and business consultancy, from which I bring skills in coaching, planning and designing services that truly meet the needs of the client.

Claire McKenzie-Sime
Specialist Occupational Therapist and Adult Autism Diagnostic Practitioner
Hello – I’m Claire McKenzie-Sime
I’m an Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting people to live fuller, more independent lives. I began this career in 2018 after completing my MSc in Occupational Therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, and since then I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of clinical settings – both within the NHS and in private practice – including hospitals, community services, and home-based environments.
I work with individuals experiencing both mental and physical health challenges, as well as those facing employment-based difficulties such as returning to work after absence or injury, navigating workplace adjustments, or exploring job transitions. My approach is always tailored to the person, aiming to empower and equip them with the tools they need to thrive in their daily life and work.
I also provide rehabilitation and environmental assessments for mobility aids and home adaptations – such as stairlifts, grab rails, and assistive devices – to help people maintain their independence. I offer home visits for this purpose within a three-hour travel distance from Glasgow City Centre (additional travel costs apply).
In recent years, I’ve dedicated myself to becoming a Sensory Integration Therapist and Autism Specialist. This area of my work focuses on helping people manage sensory processing challenges, feelings of overwhelm, and burnout, and providing meaningful post-diagnostic support. I currently lead the Adult Autism Diagnostic Service for NHS Highland and collaborate with the Glasgow Psychology Centre to provide screening and assessments for both Autism and ADHD.
I’m proud to be a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy specialist sections for Mental Health and Independent Practice, and I’m registered with the Health Care Professions Council and the Sensory Integration Network.
Whether you’re seeking assessment, rehabilitation, sensory support, or guidance post-diagnosis, I’m here to help.
